Chicks dig the longball.
Everybody digs the big play.
What this is
A daily record of the biggest scoring plays in sport. We start with MLB home runs and strikeouts. Touchdowns and goals follow.
Every morning we pull the previous slate, measure it, and publish it. Each day gets a permanent address, so a great night never falls off the page.
Where the data comes from
Play-by-play, ballpark dimensions and clip listings come from MLB's public Stats API. Distance, exit velocity, launch angle, pitch speed and movement are the published Statcast measurements for each play.
Video is not ours. Clip thumbnails link straight to MLB Film Room, where the video is hosted. We never rehost or embed it. Some games simply have no clips posted; when that happens the play still appears, marked as such.
The trajectory graphics
The arc on each card is ours. It is a reconstruction, not a tracked flight path: it ends at the measured distance, leaves the bat at the measured launch angle, and peaks slightly past the midpoint the way a real ball does once drag takes hold.
The park underneath it is real. We spline the five published outfield distances to find the wall in the exact direction the ball was hit, which is how we can tell you how far past it the ball landed.
Prediction markets
Market prices are cached snapshots from Polymarket and may be out of date. Nothing here is financial advice.
Market prices shown next to a play are cached snapshots from Polymarket's public API, refreshed hourly. Not every player has a market; when none exists we show the closest relevant one instead.
18+ / 21+ where required. Prediction markets carry risk of loss. Play responsibly and only with money you can afford to lose.
